Review - Alpha P3125 vs. Globalwin VOS32

Well, the title says it all. I'll be comparing two of the most popular Slot-1 heatsinks available to find out which one is the best for your hard-earned moolah.

Lemme' give you a rundown of the test rig before we start.

For this test, I brought out my Intel Slot-1 PIII-600E and overclocked it to 800 on a 133Mhz. bus using the default voltage of 1.65V. This gets me to about 46C with the retail cooler that came with the thing with an ambient of 30.7C.

Here's the rest of the system:

Motherboard: Soyo 6VBA-133 Motherboard
Memory: 128Mb. Tec PC100 SDRAM 2-2-2
Video Card: Creative GeForce Pro DDR
Sound Card: Sound Blaster Live! Value
Hard Drive: Maxtor 13Gb. UDMA66 7200RPM
Others: Panasonic 1.44Mb. Floppy Drive
Viewsonic E70 17" Monitor

To stress the processor, I used these:

Prime95
Winamp playing endless Techno/Tranz tunes
     - Winamp AVS Plug-in

They were run for a good 30 minutes, all at the same time to ensure 100% CPU load. Another 30 minutes went into getting an idle temperature.
